"I remember (Elise) back 36 years ago in a yoga class. We were very fortunate to have a wonderful teacher from India. Elise was her pet student and would be up at the front next to her. The teacher recognized something very special in Elise and so do I. I met up with Elise again many years ago now. She had advertised private yoga classes and I was surprised that it was her. I won't take classes from anyone else. I have tried some others but when you have had the best why go elsewhere. What I like about Elise is that she has a very good way of teaching students the intrinsic experience of the essence of yoga. Sometimes things get lost in the translation from reading yogic philosophy at its best and incorporating it into yoga practice. I haven't found other yoga teachers able to articulate this the way that Elise does...or to show it through demonstration. She really understands this stuff on a deeper level and it is very important to Elise to teach this deeper level to her students along with the proper alignments of regular yoga classes. She is able to get across yoga in a holistically rather than in a segmented way. I have come out of the classes so inspired. I take what she says very seriously and I am in better shape for it. I am 57 and I am flexible, slim and I feel perfectly youthful. For fun I ride horses and teach riding. I owe my good health, in part, to her good guidance. There is a magic to how she teaches. It feels interesting and exciting because it is so meaningful. Her voice is hypnotic because it is so soothing. It is perfect for teaching yoga. She also has a buoyancy to her personality so that even though it is relaxing, it is, as I mentioned earlier-inspiring. She is very knowledgeable and has a wonderful understanding of life so she is able to encourage students to connect with themselves. If she is doing this for conferences, she is getting her wonderful way as a yoga teacher out there for others to be inspired from. I wish that the world could meet her. It would be a better place.
